Tragic Death of Popular Teen Myron Davies in Quarry Fall
Myron Davies, a cheerful and well-liked Abersychan schoolboy, has died after a fall near Limekiln Road on July 6. The 14-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by Welsh Ambulance paramedics.
Family Mourns ‘Happy’ Teen, Appeals for Answers
Myron’s mother, Sarah Davies, described him as a “happy” and “popular” young lad who was “always seen with a smile.” She urged anyone with information about the tragic incident to step forward. “I need to know what happened to my son as a mother,” she said.
“As his family, we are all completely heartbroken and all of his friends are devastated,” Sarah added. “We would also like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support during this difficult time.”
14-Year-Old Girl Remains Critically Ill
A 14-year-old girl from Blaenavon was also injured in the same incident and remains in critical condition at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
Gwent Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall at the quarry. Officers were called around 6.30pm on the evening of Wednesday, July 6.
Community Urged to Respect Privacy
Friends and locals have been asked not to gather at the quarry to pay respects, while the investigation continues.
Myron was known for his love of cycling and gaming online with family and friends on Xbox and PlayStation. He was a well-loved figure among teachers and peers alike.
