Manchester Burglar Gang Busted After High-Speed Chase
Gang’s Crime Spree Ends in Stolen Car Intercept
On March 3, 2022, Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) brought a notorious burglary gang to a swift halt. Officers stopped the men as they fled in a stolen car.
Jail Time for Burglary Conspirators
- A key player, Christopher Ward (b. 02/09/2002), was jailed for nearly four years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary, targeting cars from public car parks, town centres, and private driveways across Manchester.
- Kade McEwan (b. 16/05/2002) from Moorcroft Road, Manchester, got one year and ten months in prison for the same charge.
Terrorising Manchester with Stolen Wheels
The gang stole vehicles then used them in further burglaries, terrorising innocent locals and causing havoc across the region. Many victims were left stranded, unable to get to work or take their kids to school.
GMP Vows to Tackle Organised Crime
Detective Constable Chris Bromley from GMP Serious Organised Crime Group said: “This group were prolific thieves committing intrusive crimes. They showed no regard for public safety with their reckless driving.
“No matter how organised a gang thinks they are, we will use every resource to put them behind bars.”
