Teen Stabbed in Crawley: 18-Year-Old Charged with Attempted Murder
Shocking Attack in Broadfield
Emergency services rushed to Burdock Close, Crawley, just after 11:20 PM over the weekend after reports of a stabbing. A 15-year-old boy was found seriously injured and was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Suspect in Custody
Carling Poynter, 18, from Broadfield, was arrested early Monday morning. He has been charged with attempted murder and is remanded in custody ahead of a Crown Court hearing on June 5.
Two Others Arrested and Released on Bail
A 17-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have since been released on bail while investigations continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Our thoughts remain with the young victim and his family after this devastating incident,” said Superintendent Imran Asghar. “A suspect is in custody, but we urge anyone with information or footage to come forward. Contact police online or call 101, quoting Operation Langstone.”
