PC Sean Park Binned for Racist Rants and Ignoring Police Brutality
Another Met police officer has been booted from the force in the wake of disgraceful behaviour caught on camera. PC Sean Park from the Central West Command Unit was sacked after a damning October 1 BBC Panorama exposé revealed him making offensive, discriminatory remarks about Muslims. Even worse, Park bragged about turning a blind eye when a colleague allegedly stomped on a detainee’s ankle.
He admitted doing nothing to stop the brutality or racist comments from now-fired PC Martin Borg, who had already been kicked out for misconduct.
Top Brass Slams Park’s ‘Appalling’ Conduct
“PC Park’s conduct fell very far below the high standard we expect of our officers,” said Commander Simon Messinger, Professionalism Lead. “His comments were appalling, and condoning the use of force against a detainee is completely unacceptable. He rightly lost his job.”
Messinger also revealed a misconduct hearing for another ex-PC, Brian Sharkey, has been delayed. New unseen footage handed to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) by the BBC forced a pause. Sharkey’s hearing is now set for February.
Lifetime Ban for PC Park and Six Other Rogue Officers
PC Park was found guilty of breaching multiple professional conduct rules including authority, respect, courtesy, discreditable conduct, failure to challenge improper behaviour, and equality. He now joins six other corrupt officers on the College of Policing’s Barred List, preventing him from ever working in the police or related roles again.
