Paul Lawrence, a 51-year-old family man, died after a savage assault on Gladonian Road in the early hours of 28 January 2024. Despite the rapid response of emergency services, he succumbed to his injuries.

Teen Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter

The 17-year-old from Bognor Regis admitted manslaughter at Portsmouth Crown Court on 6 October. After initially being released on strict bail, he was sentenced on 12 December to 3 years and 4 months behind bars. Due to his age, his identity remains protected by law.

Second Teen Convicted Over Case

  • A second 17-year-old from Littlehampton was convicted earlier in connection with the case.
  • He pleaded guilty to sending a grossly offensive or menacing message under the Communications Act 2003.
  • He was also found guilty of cannabis possession.
  • His identity is also legally protected.
