Derby Dealer Jailed for Four Years in Major Crack and Heroin Bust
A Derby man has been locked up for four years after selling crack cocaine and heroin across the city.
Police Smash AJ Line Drug Network
After months of digging, Derby cops smashed a ruthless drug ring known as the AJ Line. On 20 January 2025, specialist teams raided two addresses linked to 24-year-old Faris Mushtaq – his home on Brayfield Road, Littleover, and another spot in the city centre.
Huge Haul of Cash, Drugs and Digital Evidence Found
- £10,000 in cash discovered, some stuffed under a bed
- Two mobile phones seized revealing incriminating messages
- Mushtaq’s car contained crack cocaine, heroin, cling film wraps, and digital scales
Investigators found mass texts from Mushtaq’s phones advertising “best quality, light fluffy powder” and “best deals” with all-day delivery – proving a well-oiled drug supply operation.
Mushtaq Caught, Quiet at First but Then Admits Guilt
Mushtaq stayed silent during police interviews but later admitted to possessing and intending to supply both crack cocaine and heroin. On 25 February, Derby Crown Court slammed him with a four-year prison sentence.
