Brutal Attack Caught on CCTV
Aaron Nomicas, 20, from Larkhill, has been locked up for six months after viciously kicking a homeless woman in the head. The shocking assault happened in the early hours of January 17th in Salisbury city centre’s Market Walk.
Nomicas pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court last Friday (06/03).
Victim Left Injured but Defiant
The victim, a woman in her 50s with no connection to Nomicas, was left with facial injuries but thankfully no life-changing damage. She was lying helpless on the ground when Nomicas struck without warning.
After the attack, the victim bravely called Nomicas a “coward,” prompting his own mates to restrain him from further violence.
Swift Police Justice
The assault was reported the same day, and police launched a rapid investigation. CCTV footage quickly identified Nomicas, who was arrested within two hours.
Sgt Joshua Bliss from South CID said: “This was a highly impactful case. The victim is incredibly vulnerable with no way to defend herself from this savage attack.
She was just sitting in Salisbury city centre with her dog, Lance, trying to keep warm, when this thug attacked her for no reason.
The suspect was a complete stranger. Thanks to swift police work and CCTV, we tracked him down within just two hours.
The victim called him a ‘coward’ — a word we all agree with after seeing the footage.
This sentence sends a powerful message: we will protect our most vulnerable and bring their attackers to justice.”
