Detectives have launched a murder probe after a 26-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Westminster.
Stabbing Shakes Abbey Orchard Street
Police rushed to Abbey Orchard Street, SW1, just after 10pm on Friday, 27 March following reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived within three minutes and found the young man suffering multiple stab wounds.
Despite emergency treatment and a hospital rush, the man was tragically pronounced dead.
No Arrests Yet as Investigation Ramps Up
Detective Superintendent Dean Lanfear said: “My thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends today as they process the loss of their loved one.”
“At this early stage, no suspect has been arrested and we are keeping an open mind regarding the circumstances of the incident.”
“We understand the concern this incident may cause. Officers are on patrol in the area to provide a visual deterrent and to offer reassurance to residents.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Specialist officers are supporting the victim’s family, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place soon.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything or has any information about the attack to come forward. Even the smallest tip-off could be crucial.
