Aer Lingus makes history today as it launches its first-ever Starlink Wi-Fi flight from Dublin to New York JFK. This marks the Irish airline as the first in the country to offer Starlink’s cutting-edge internet service onboard.
Fastest Wi-Fi in the Sky at 500+ Mbps
Starlink boasts a network of over 10,000 satellites orbiting the Earth, delivering ultra-fast connectivity at cruising altitude. Passengers on Starlink-equipped Aer Lingus flights will be able to browse, stream, shop, and work seamlessly on multiple devices. With blistering speeds topping 500 Mbps, staying connected mid-air just got a major upgrade.
Rollout Plan: From North America to Europe by 2027
The airline is set to install Starlink across its entire fleet in phases. First up, planes flying to North America will get the new tech, followed by those on European routes. Aer Lingus aims to have Starlink Wi-Fi available on all its long-haul aircraft by early 2027, promising nonstop connectivity for all its international travellers.
