Kent Police are pressing for witnesses after a serious collision on Sturry Road, Canterbury, turned deadly.

Tragedy on Sturry Road

The smash happened near Kingsmead Road at 5.45pm on Monday 23 February 2026. A white Vauxhall Viva hit a pedestrian, a man in his 90s. Despite being rushed to hospital with multiple injuries, he died the following day, Tuesday 24 March.

Driver Arrested, Yet Inquiry Ongoing

The 73-year-old driver was arrested and remains on bail as detectives continue their investigations.

Police want anyone who saw the collision—or the car and pedestrian beforehand—to come forward immediately.
