Officers are urgently hunting for Jason Evans, 32, who bolted from a prisoner transport van in Poole on Thursday evening.

How He Got Away

Dorset Police were tipped off at 5.28pm on April 2, 2026, that Evans had escaped from a privately operated prisoner vehicle on Poole Road. The 32-year-old had just appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded following charges including assault. During his transfer to another location, he made his daring getaway.

Description and Police Appeal

Evans is white, 5’8”, medium build, with ginger hair. When last seen, he was wearing grey clothes, no shoes, and had a handcuff on one wrist. Police suspect he has since changed his outfit to evade capture.

“We are continuing extensive searches to find Jason Evans and bring him back into custody,” said Superintendent Ross Graham of Dorset Police. “If you spot anyone matching this description acting suspiciously, please report immediately. Do not approach him — call 999 straight away.”
