Fire crews raced to control a bonfire that quickly got out of hand, sparking a dangerous blaze across East Sussex’s open countryside.
Three Fire Stations Join Forces to Crush Flames
Heathfield Community Fire Station was first on the scene. They were soon backed up by teams from Crowborough and a specialist unit from East Grinstead. Together, they fought the roaring fire and stopped it from spreading further.
Firefighters Urge Caution Ahead of Bonfire Season
“We urge the public to be extra cautious when lighting bonfires, especially during dry or breezy conditions where flames spread fast,” the fire service warned. “Always manage fires responsibly to keep everyone safe.”
