A man in his 60s remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed on a public footpath running through Stafford Castle golf course on Thursday evening. The assault occurred around 7pm in the Castlefields area of Stafford as police launched a major inquiry to identify the suspect and reassure the local community.
Suspect Description Released
Authorities say the suspect is a man in his mid-to-late 20s, possibly of Eastern European descent, of average build and wearing dark clothing. Police continue to appeal for information from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour between 5pm and 8pm in the area.
Underway Attack
Staffordshire Police officers are carrying out extensive house-to-house enquiries alongside reviewing CCTV footage. The investigation has been supported by drones and a National Police Air Service helicopter to canvass the scene and the surrounding areas.
