A woman in her 80s has died after a car collided with two pedestrians and several vehicles in a supermarket car park in Gosport.
Emergency services were called to the Morrisons car park on Walpole Road at around 12.06pm on Friday, 21 August, following reports of a serious collision.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a grey Kia Soul was driven into the car park before colliding with two pedestrians as well as a number of parked and moving vehicles.
A woman aged in her 80s was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency crews.
A second person suffered minor injuries.
The incident prompted a significant emergency service response and the supermarket car park was closed while officers carried out enquiries.
Police said no arrests had been reported at the time of the latest update.
Officers are now examining CCTV and are appealing for witnesses and motorists with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: “It was reported that a grey Kia Soul was driven into the car park before colliding with two pedestrians and several other parked and moving vehicles.
“One of the pedestrians, a woman in her 80s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. A second person reported minor injuries.
“We will be reviewing CCTV and other lines of enquiry, but would also like to speak to any witnesses and anyone with relevant dash cam footage.”
