A 13-year-old boy has reportedly been arrested following an incident involving a knife at Dagenham Park Church of England School.

Police were called to the school after concerns were raised about a boy allegedly entering the site with a knife.

Parents discussing the incident online said pupils were kept safe while the situation was dealt with, although several different accounts circulated on social media about exactly what happened.

Claims that several boys entered the school, that a particular pupil was being targeted, or that the incident followed an earlier altercation have not been independently confirmed.

Local reports state that a 13-year-old boy was arrested following the incident.

The Metropolitan Police had not published a dedicated newsroom statement about the school incident when checked on Thursday evening, so the precise circumstances, suspected offences and whether a weapon was recovered remain unclear.

Dagenham Park Church of England School is in the Met’s Beam policing area.

No injuries have been confirmed.
