Blaze Breaks Out in High Knocke Home
Four fire engines and a height vehicle rushed to a home in High Knocke after a fire broke out. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames using hose reel jets.
Fire Started in Utility Room
Crews believe the blaze began in the utility room where a tumble dryer was kept. The fire quickly spread to the roof of the property.
Pets Rescued But One Rabbit Dies
No people were injured in the fire. A dog and two rabbits were saved by firefighters, but sadly, one rabbit died at the scene.
Firefighters Issue Urgent Safety Warning
Members of the KFRS Volunteer Response Team supported the residents after the incident. Firefighters urged the public to stay vigilant when using white goods like tumble dryers, dishwashers, and washing machines.

- Clean tumble dryer filters regularly to prevent fluff build-up, which can overheat and ignite.
