Man, 26, Fatally Stabbed in Enfield – Murder Probe Underway
A 26-year-old man has died following a fatal stabbing in Enfield, sparking a murder investigation. Emergency crews were rushed to Holbrook Close, EN1, at around 12.40am on Sunday, 13 September, after reports of a man collapsed at the scene.
Despite desperate attempts to save him, the victim was pronounced dead at the location. His next of kin have been informed, with formal identification still pending.
Suspect Arrested Near Scene
Police arrested a 43-year-old man close to the scene on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody while detectives continue their enquiries. Officers currently do not believe anyone else is involved.
Investigation Led by Specialist Crime Command
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, is heading the investigation. She confirmed that enquiries into the stabbing are ongoing.
Calls for Witnesses and New Details Surface
Police revealed that about 20 minutes before the stabbing, the arrested man reported an assault to officers. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been alerted as part of the investigation.
