Brutal Unprovoked Attack in Newham – Police Seek Suspect
Police have released a photo of a man they want to identify following a shocking assault in Newham. The shocking attack happened on Sunday, 6 May, around 11pm at a convenience store on High Street North, E6.
Man Attacked After ‘Looking’ Accusation
The 45-year-old victim was paying for shopping when the suspect stormed up, accusing him of ‘looking at him’. The victim ignored the threat and tried to carry on, but the suspect wasn’t finished.
The attacker grabbed the man roughly, dragging him across the store before shoving him into the street. As he fell, two more suspects barged into him, intensifying the assault.
Good Samaritans Chase Thugs Away
Luckily, people sitting in a nearby parked car rushed to help. They chased off the three suspects, but not before the victim suffered serious injuries—a broken wrist and fractured elbow from the fall.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Constable David Van Der Valk of Newham CID slammed the attack as “entirely unprovoked and vicious” and urged anyone who recognises the man to come forward. “Help us catch this violent individual,” he said.
