Chaos erupted in Camberwell Road in the early hours as police scrambled to break up a violent brawl at a local club. The 2:39am fight left five people injured and sparked a major police response.
Five Hurt and Locked Up
London Ambulance Service treated five victims at the scene before rushing them to hospital. All five have since been arrested and are in police custody as investigations ramp up.
Major Transport Mayhem
The A215 southbound remains shut from Bowyer Place to Camberwell New Road at Camberwell Green. The chaos has also thrown the 14 bus route into disarray, with diversions frustrating morning commuters.
Police Hunt Witnesses
“We were called to a report of a fight at a club on Camberwell Road at around 02:39hrs on Sunday, 1 February,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
“Anyone with any information or footage is urged to contact us via 101 quoting CAD902/01FEB.”
