An eight-year-old girl has tragically been confirmed as the second victim of the Manchester Arena suicide bombing that claimed 22 lives last night. Saffie Rose Roussos died in the horrific blast during Ariana Grande’s concert, which also injured 59 people, her primary school announced.

Saffie was separated from her mum and sister just moments before the explosion. While Saffie lost her life, her mother and sister are currently being treated for shrapnel wounds in separate hospitals.

Heartbreaking Tribute to “Beautiful Little Girl”

Chris Upton, headteacher of Tarleton Community Primary School near Preston, voiced the school’s shock and sorrow. “The news of Saffie’s death in this appalling attack has devastated all of us,” he said. “The thought that anyone could go to a concert and not come home is heartbreaking.”

He described Saffie as “a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word,” loved by everyone for her warmth, kindness, and creative spirit. “We are a tight-knit community and will support each other during this very difficult time,” added Mr Upton.

Children Among Those Hospitalised After Terror Blast

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that 12 children under 16 were among the 59 casualties rushed to hospital following the attack. Panic erupted as thousands of concertgoers screamed and fled when a nail-packed bomb detonated just as Ariana Grande’s show ended at 10.33pm.

Man Arrested in South Manchester Linked to Bomber

Police were quick to act, arresting a 23-year-old man in Chorlton, South Manchester, believed to be connected to the suicide bomber. Investigations are ongoing as the city grapples with the aftermath of this devastating terror attack.
