Two Dead After Horror Crash on Wigan’s Ormskirk Road
Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) officers are hunting for witnesses after a fatal smash on Ormskirk Road, Wigan. The deadly crash happened at the junction with Billinge Road at around 7:15pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Car and Bike Collide, Leaving Two Men Dead
A Peugeot 408 collided with a Suzuki GSR750 motorbike carrying a rider and a passenger. The violent impact threw both men from the bike, causing serious injuries and ultimately tragedy.
Victims Confirmed
- 21-Year-Old Man: Emergency crews confirmed the young man died at the scene due to the severe crash.
- 56-Year-Old Man: The older man was rushed to hospital but died shortly after from his injuries.
41-Year-Old Peugeot Driver Arrested
The Peugeot’s driver, a 41-year-old man, is in custody on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and causing serious injury. Police continue to question him as investigations press on.
PC Philip Drummond, leading the inquiry, said: “This is another extremely upsetting and tragic collision that has occurred recently.”
