Kent Police Hunt Driver in Deadly Tunbridge Dog Walker Hit-and-Run

Kent Police have launched an urgent appeal after a man was killed in a hit-and-run while walking his dog in Tunbridge.

Man in His 50s Found Dead on Pembury Road

The body of a man in his 50s was discovered just before 9.15pm on Thursday, 6 August 2020. A passerby found him on the A2014 Pembury Road, about 200 metres south of the Vauxhall Inn pub.

He suffered injuries consistent with a collision, but no vehicle stopped at the scene. Despite the tragedy, the dog he was walking was unharmed.

Police Plead for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

PC Jamie Woodhams from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“We urgently need anyone with information to come forward and help provide answers for the deceased’s family.”

“If your car is fitted with a dashcam and may have captured the incident or suspicious vehicles near the A2014 and A21 roads, please make contact.”

“We also want to hear from anyone who has spotted a damaged or abandoned vehicle in their area – it could be involved.”
