Major Emergency Shakes Chippenham Tonight
A huge emergency scene erupted in Chippenham at around 7.30pm tonight on Gladstone Road, just steps from The Bridge House pub. Emergency services descended on the area in a dramatic response.
Air Ambulance and Specialist Teams Swarm Scene
Wilshire and Bath Air Ambulances were scrambled immediately, joined by multiple ambulance crews. The specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) from Bristol also raced to the scene. Firefighters didn’t hang back either – around 12 fire engines from Wiltshire, backed up by Avon Fire and Rescue, roared into action.
Victim Found After Suspected Fall From Height
Emergency crews discovered one person injured on an embankment under the Gladstone Road Bridge. It’s believed the victim fell from a significant height. Medics worked quickly to treat the casualty on site before winching them to safety on a stretcher. The injured individual was then rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
Road Closures and Police Cordons Disrupt Chippenham
