A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life after being stabbed outside a Muslim prayer centre in west London.

Emergency services were called at 2.21pm to reports of a stabbing on Hanworth Road, near the junction with High Street, in Hounslow. Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, who found a man with multiple stab wounds.

 

 


 

The victim was treated at the scene by ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, before being rushed to a major trauma centre in London. His condition is still being assessed at hospital, and police have confirmed that he remains in a critical state.

A crime scene has been established, and several bus routes have been diverted while police carry out their investigations. No arrests have been made so far.

Major Police Response, Including Counter Terrorism Unit

Although the motive remains under investigation, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are understood to have attended the scene as a precaution, given the location outside a Muslim prayer centre.

A police spokesperson confirmed:

“Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting reference 4387/22Jun.”

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 2.22pm to reports of a stabbing in Hanworth Road, Hounslow. We sent ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and an advanced paramedic practitioner. The Thames Valley Air Ambulance also attended.

We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre.”

The area remains cordoned off this evening, with officers conducting door-to-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV from nearby shops and transport hubs.
