Young Man Shot Dead in Enfield Night Horror
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are hunting for leads after a fatal shooting rocked Enfield on Wednesday night.
Gunshots Ring Out on Sebastopol Road
Just before 9pm on 29 July, officers rushed to Sebastopol Road, N9, following reports of gunfire. They found 26-year-old Christopher George from Enfield slumped in a car, suffering deadly gunshot wounds.
Despite frantic first aid from police and paramedics, including London’s Air Ambulance, Christopher was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are now grieving.
Two Men Flee Scene After Close-Range Shooting
Initial investigations suggest Christopher was sitting in his car when two men on foot approached and shot him at close range. The suspects fled in a vehicle heading towards Felixstowe Road. Police have yet to make any arrests.
Police Plea: Help Bring Killer to Justice
Detective Inspector Dave Hillier said: “We have an open mind on the motive. Rumours won’t help. This young man has been killed in cold blood. His family deserve answers.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward, either to us directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers. Your support is vital and you will be supported.”

Community Leaders Demand Justice
Detective Superintendent Ella Marriott added: “A young man is dead. This is unacceptable. We must stand together – police, council and community – to find those responsible and keep Enfield safe.”
Enfield Council Leader, Councillor Nesil Caliskan, said: “My thoughts are with the victim’s family and the whole community. We’re supporting the police fully and urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
