Armed Police in Dramatic Isle of Wight Chase with Helicopter and Dogs
Hampshire Constabulary launched a major operation on the South Wight tonight. Armed Roads Policing officers, backed by a dog unit and an NPAS helicopter, were seen hunting down a fleeing vehicle in Ventnor and the village of Godshill.

Witnesses spotted the police helicopter circling over Godshill and Ventnor while ground units were deployed in Godshill, Bonchurch, and Wroxhall. The dramatic manhunt started after a vehicle sped off with a person of interest onboard.

This intense police activity comes after a lengthy pursuit on the Isle of Wight late Wednesday night. A police dog and handler tracked the suspect for over an hour through tough terrain. Officers found property connected to the case in two separate spots, but the suspect still managed to slip away.
