Tribute Paid to Billy Green, 26, After Fatal Stabbing in Portsmouth

A heartfelt tribute has been made to 26-year-old Billy Green, who tragically died after being stabbed outside Pickwick House in Buckland, Portsmouth, on Monday 11 January.

Murder Investigation Underway

Police were called to Wingfield Street at 12:43pm following reports of a serious assault. Officers found Billy stabbed at the scene. Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 23-year-old man from Southsea has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Authorities say they are not seeking any other suspects at this time.

Family Pays Moving Tribute

“Our first-born son, heartbroken parents, taken way too young, he had his whole life to live. Billy will always be in our hearts and memories. A cheeky chappy with an infectious laugh. Loved forever by mum, dad and family.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Matt Gillooly of Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Unit reassured locals, saying: “We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the community. We will be in the area conducting our enquiries so if any residents have any concerns, please come and speak to our officers.”
