This afternoon, panic hit Eastbourne when coastguards were scrambled to rescue a person spotted in the chilly waters off East Sussex. At around 1:25 pm, emergency crews swung into action.
Lifeboat and Helicopter Join Race Against Time
The Eastbourne Inshore Lifeboat was quickly launched, backed by a coastguard helicopter from Lydd and local teams. The lifeboat located the individual and hauled them safely ashore, where paramedics, coastguards, and police waited ready.
From above, a paramedic was winched down onto the beach to provide urgent medical care, highlighting the high stakes of the rescue mission.
Police Await Updates on Man’s Condition
“Police were called following concerns for a man in the sea off the coast of Eastbourne at around 2:10 pm on Tuesday, 22nd October. Emergency services remain at the scene, and we have no further information at this time,” a Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed.
