Essex Police are hunting suspects after a stolen car was found badly damaged following a single-vehicle crash on Somnes Avenue, Canvey Island. The collision was reported just after 5 a.m. on Sunday, 5 January 2025.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered the smashed-up car slammed into a lamppost – but no one was inside.

Police launch probe, chase leads

Investigations reveal the vehicle was stolen from a local Canvey Island address. Police are following multiple leads to track down the culprits behind the crash.

“We are working to establish who was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. We urge anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible,” said an Essex Police spokesperson.
