Man Attacked While Watching Over Kids
A young dad was brutally stabbed multiple times while supervising his children in a playground. The shocking attack happened Sunday evening at the Parkwood Rec play area on Bicknor Road, Maidstone.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Paramedics and air ambulance doctors treated the man after the stabbing near Holy Family Primary School. Armed police and dog units swarmed the area around 10pm on May 22, 2022, putting the park into lockdown.
The Kent, Sussex, and Surrey air ambulance landed on site to airlift the victim, who was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries.
Man Arrested, Police Launch Manhunt
Kent Police confirmed a 57-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the attack and is now in custody. A large crime scene remains, and officers continue their enquiries.
Family Arrive at Scene
The stabbed man’s family arrived shortly after the incident and spoke with police. Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway for the attacker believed to live in the area.
Kent Police statement: “Officers attended after reports of an assault near Bicknor Road at 9.56pm. The victim was flown to hospital with stab wounds. A 57-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody. Enquiries are ongoing.”
