Boy, 13, Seriously Hurt in Devizes Road Horror
A 13-year-old boy was left with serious injuries after a collision in Devizes yesterday afternoon.
Collision on Horton Road
Police were called to Horton Road, near the Marlborough Close junction, at around 4.30pm on 18/05. The boy had just got off a bus when he was hit by a silver van while crossing the road.
He was airlifted to bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol Children’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in a stable condition.
Driver Stays at Scene, Investigation Underway
The van’s male driver stayed at the scene, and no arrests have been made. Horton Road was shut until about 10pm to allow emergency teams to manage the situation and for police to carry out a collision investigation.
Police Seek Witnesses
PC Pete Fennell from the Collision Investigation Unit urged anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward. He said:
“We know the road would have been busy at the time of the collision so we would urge any witnesses, including anyone who may have dash cam footage which could assist our enquiries, to come forward.”
