Woman Dies in Tragic Fire at Wood Green Supported Housing
A woman has died following a serious fire at a supported housing facility on Lordship Lane, Wood Green. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Saturday afternoon, but sadly she could not be saved.
Blaze Sparks Major Emergency Response
The London Ambulance Service received a call at 2:20pm on 21 June after reports of a fire involving a person. Crews responded immediately with multiple ambulances, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to a major trauma centre,” a London Ambulance spokesperson said.
Despite urgent medical care, the woman later died. The London Fire Brigade tackled the blaze, and a crime scene remains while the fire’s cause is investigated.
Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances
The Metropolitan Police were called at 1:59pm to assist fire crews at the hostel fire. A police spokesman confirmed a 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she later passed away. Her family has been informed.
Enquiries alongside fire investigators have concluded the fire’s cause is not suspicious.
