Woman in Her 80s Dies After Headcorn Car Crash
A tragic crash in Headcorn village has claimed the life of a woman in her 80s. The collision happened near the junction of North Street and High Street just before midday today.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Kent Police were alerted at 11:51 AM after a car slammed into a bollard. Police, fire crews, and paramedics all rushed to the scene. Despite their best efforts, the elderly woman was pronounced dead at the site.
“Officers attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, where a woman in her 80s was confirmed deceased. Her next of kin has been informed. The driver is believed to have suffered a medical episode,” said a police spokesperson.
Major Emergency Response Blocks High Street
The serious crash triggered a large emergency response, with at least three police cars, fire engines, and two ambulances attending. Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one fire engine was deployed to assist paramedics.
Witnesses reported heavy cordons and roadblocks around the High Street area, as crews worked to manage the scene.
