Chaos on the M1: A serious multi-vehicle crash has slammed the southbound carriageway in Bedfordshire, sparking long delays this afternoon. The motorway is fully closed between Junction 13 (Bedford) and Junction 12 (Flitwick) while emergency teams scramble to clear the scene.

Emergency Services Swarm Scene

Bedfordshire Police, Fire and Rescue, East of England Ambulance Service, and even the East Anglian Air Ambulance are all on site. National Highways traffic officers are managing the snarled-up traffic. So far, no official word on injuries or how many vehicles were involved in the smash.
