School Caretaker John Lyon Jailed for 11 Years Over Horrific Child Sex Crimes

John Lyon, 47, a no fixed address man and former school caretaker, was sentenced to 11 years behind bars at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday 22 January. The conviction relates to additional horrendous sexual offences against young girls.

Monster’s Sickening Crimes Spanning Two Decades

Lyon was already serving time after admitting to sexually assaulting two girls between 2012 and 2013. Now, he has pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, three counts of sexual assault, and three counts of rape.

The attacks targeted four girls aged between five and twelve, carried out in north London from 1993 to 2013. The victims bravely came forward in 2018 and 2019, leading to this conviction.

Cop Labels Lyon a Dangerous Sexual Predator

Detective Constable Keith Kimberley didn’t hold back, branding Lyon “a dangerous sexual predator” who poses an ongoing threat to children.

“He caused unforgivable trauma to the children he abused. The only appropriate place for him is behind bars, away from the public,” said Kimberley.

“Lyon’s offending stretched over 20 years. My respect goes to the victims and families who endured so much. The Met’s safeguarding teams work tirelessly to catch offenders and protect potential victims. When abuse does happen, we make sure predators face justice.”
