Knife Horror in Coventry: Victim Left in Coma After Brutal Doorstep Attack

A knifeman has been locked up for 14 years after plunging a neighbour into a coma in a savage stabbing outside his home in Coventry.

Three Stabs on Blythe Road

Anthony Chilton, 47, attacked a man in his 30s on Blythe Road on 4 March, stabbing him three times on his own doorstep. The victim suffered serious wounds, including damage to his heart and lung, and was in a coma for a whole week.

Lucky to Survive

Despite the horrific injuries, the victim pulled through and is now recovering. The attack erupted after a dispute between the two men.

Justice Served at Warwick Crown Court

Chilton was swiftly arrested at his home and denied the stabbing, even in court. But a mountain of witness testimony helped build a solid case. Last Thursday (13 August), he was found guilty of wounding with intent and sentenced to 14 years behind bars.

“A knife can ruin lives, causing both physical and emotional pain,” said DC Keith Clarkson. “It’s fortunate the victim survived. The witness accounts were vital in securing this conviction. This sentence sends a clear message: knife crime is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.”
