Police and Sky Slam Illegal Streaming Pirates
Detective Sergeant David Beach from Nottinghamshire Police’s Cyber Crime Team warned: “This action sends out a strong message that we are homing in on those who knowingly commit or facilitate online copyright infringement.”
“Millions of hardworking people pay for subscription TV services, while others cheat the system. Some might think illegal streaming is victimless, but it most definitely isn’t.”
Matt Hibbert, Sky’s Group Director of Anti-Piracy, added: “We thank Nottinghamshire Police’s Cyber Crime Team for this strong action against illegal streaming operators.
“We’ll continue to work with law enforcement to protect our content, fight illegal streaming, and keep consumers safe from the dangers these services can pose.”
