John Ward, 41, struck on Bilborough’s Bracebridge Drive just after his 78-year-old victim withdrew a large sum of cash from an ATM.
Thug Snatches Wallet and Flees
Ward casually jumped out of a car, strode up to the pensioner, and wrenched his wallet straight from his hands on the morning of May 31, 2022. He then sped off in the same vehicle.
Police Nab Ward and Bring Him to Justice
Officers soon tracked Ward down at 123 Street in Ironville. Initially tight-lipped, he soon pled guilty to robbery.
Ward was sentenced to two years and 11 months behind bars for the brazen theft.
