Appeal after fatal collision in Folkestone

Dash cam or privately held CCTV footage is sought following a fatal collision in Folkestone. The incident took place at the junction of Bellevue Street and Dover Road at around 10.40am on Tuesday 6 August 2019 and involved a blue Ford Fiesta and two pedestrians. One of the pedestrians, a 76-year-old man from Folkestone, sustained a head injury and died at a local hospital on 11 August. The second pedestrian, a woman in her 60s from Folkestone, was not seriously injured. Sergeant Peter Greaves, from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘We have spoken with several witnesses to the incident and have a good understanding of the circumstances however we remain keen to obtain video footage that can assist with our enquiries. ‘We are particularly keen to speak with people who have captured the incident on their dash cams, or privately held CCTV, and I would encourage them to get in contact with us as soon as possible. ‘Anyone with information can call us on 01622 698538 quoting RY/DH/88/19.
