Electrician Fuller Guilty of Sickening Sexual Crimes Against 81 Dead Women
Electrician Michael Fuller has admitted to a shocking 51 sexual offence charges, including making and taking indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornographic material. The offences relate to three child victims, breaking multiple UK laws.
Fuller Arrested Over 1987 Double Murders and More
Fuller was arrested on December 3, 2020, over the cold case murders of Caroline Pierce and Wendy Knell in Tunbridge Wells. Searches of his home by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate uncovered evidence of further heinous crimes. He was charged the next day with the murders and 44 additional offences involving 78 deceased females, ranging from under-18s to women over 85.
Horrific Abuse in Hospital Mortuaries Over 12 Years
Between 2008 and 2020, Fuller used his electrician role at two Tunbridge Wells hospitals to sexually assault dead women in mortuaries. Police worked closely with NHS Trusts and coroners during a complex and sensitive investigation to uncover the full scale of his abuse.
“Fuller used his role as an electrician at these two hospitals to carry out these heinous acts on deceased victims,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Fotheringham. “Not only did he kill and assault two innocent women in 1987, but he went on to traumatise grieving families by defiling their loved ones.”
“We’ve identified 81 victims so far and offer welfare support to the families. Sadly, some victims may never be identified due to limited information.”
Police and NCA Continue Sensitive Victim Identification
The investigation identified 100 potential victims, with 81 formally named. Family liaison officers have spoken with relatives and continue to do so privately as enquiries progress. Detective Chief Superintendent Fotheringham urged the public not to interfere, promising sensitivity and respect throughout.
Noel McHugh of the National Crime Agency said, “The NCA is proud to support Kent Police in bringing justice to the victims and families. This was an utterly horrific case and our thoughts remain with those affected.”
