Man Attacked in Early Morning Robbery on St George’s Road
A man in his 30s was mugged in the early hours near the junction of St George’s Road, Lethaby Road, and St Mary’s Road. The shocking attack happened between 2am and 3.20am.
Thugs Steal Wallet and Smash Wine Bottle Over Victim’s Head
The victim was walking alone when a man and woman crept up from behind. The male suspect snatched the victim’s wallet, while the female hit him with a wine bottle, knocking him down briefly. He suffered cuts to his head and torso but managed to get back on his feet.
Victim Fights Back, Faces More Violence
The victim confronted the pair on St George’s Road but was assaulted again. Police now want to track down the suspects, who are believed to be in their late 20s to mid-30s.
Police Hunting Couple and Witness in Black Hatchback
- Male Suspect: White, short hair, average build. Wearing a long-sleeved top with markings on the arms, shorts, dark socks, and light-coloured Adidas trainers.
- Female Suspect: White, slim build, hair in a high bun. Wearing a light jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, dark trousers, carrying three 1-litre bottles.
Officers are especially keen to find the driver of a black hatchback spotted nearby at the time. They believe this person could have witnessed the attack.
