76-Year-Old Robert Price Dies in Suspicious Dagenham Fire
Detectives investigating a deadly blaze in Dagenham have named the victim as Robert Price, 76. The fire at a home on Oval Road North broke out on Saturday, July 27, and is now being treated as murder.
Emergency Services Respond to Fatal Fire
Firefighters forced their way into the property after arriving shortly after 5:40pm. Inside, they found Robert Price’s body. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem on July 29 confirmed he died from inhaling fire fumes and burns.
Teen Arrested for Murder and Arson
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life. He appeared in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on July 31 and was remanded in custody. His next hearing is set for August 2 at the Old Bailey.
Another man arrested in connection with the investigation has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Robert’s family has been informed and is receiving support, asking for privacy.
Police are urging anyone who was near Oval Road North between 5pm and 6pm on July 27 to come forward. Investigators want witnesses and dashcam footage to help piece together what happened.
