Thug Michael Yeo Jailed Over Brutal Domestic Attack

Michael Yeo, 26, was locked up at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 4 February 2022. He admitted a string of crimes including assault, kidnap, affray, criminal damage, possession of a bladed weapon, and being unlawfully at large.

Violent Assault Sparks Police Action

The court heard how Yeo attacked his former partner after a heated argument at a Chatham address in September 2021. During the attack, he punched her several times in the shoulder before biting her ear. When she tried to escape to a neighbour’s house, Yeo threatened her with a knife, forcing her back inside.

Police were called and arrested Yeo, who was already on temporary licence from HMP Sudbury after a 2019 burglary sentence. He had failed to return to prison when his violent spree took place.

Police Warn: Domestic Abuse Isn’t Going Away

“Yeo subjected his former partner to a frightening and vicious assault,” said PC Harry Groves of the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad. “Domestic abuse is a real threat men and women face and it’s vital victims come forward so we can investigate properly.”

Kent Police take domestic abuse extremely seriously. Many victims suffer in silence hoping their partner’s behaviour will change. They often feel isolated and scared.

“To anyone facing this situation, please pick up the phone and talk to us. Domestic abuse is never acceptable and offenders will be punished.”
