Chaos at Epping Protests: 23 Arrested, 12 Charged
Violence Erupts Outside Bell Hotel
Essex Police have cracked down hard after disorderly scenes at protests outside the Bell Hotel in Epping. So far, 23 people have been arrested and 12 charged following violent offences linked to earlier demonstrations.
Although recent protests on 24 and 27 July passed without incident, officers revealed troublemakers exploited previous rallies as a smokescreen for violent attacks on police, criminal damage, and even theft of police equipment.

- Jonathan Glover (47, Waltham Abbey) – Charged with violent disorder.
- Stuart Williams (36, Thornwood, Epping) – Violent disorder charges.
- Keith Silk (33, Loughton) – Violent disorder and criminal damage.
- Dean Smith (51, Epping) – Violent disorder.
- Lee Gower (43, Epping) – Violent disorder and assault on emergency worker.
- Kenneth Blissett (34, Harlow) – Theft and possession of an offensive weapon.
