Teen left with life-changing injuries after brutal car park assault
A violent attack on a 17-year-old boy in Harlow has led to multiple arrests. The victim was left with serious, life-changing head injuries after being attacked in a car park on Sunday, February 2. Essex Police rushed to the scene, discovering the teen badly hurt and his e-bike stolen during the savage assault.
Three suspects now in custody, charged with serious offences
Since the attack, police have swooped on three men linked to the incident.
- Lee Farrugia, 29, of Spruce Hill, Harlow, was first arrested on February 10. Initially charged with robbery, he now faces a slew of extra charges including dangerous driving, three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, driving without insurance, and driving while disqualified. He’s currently held and due at Chelmsford Crown Court on April 10.
- Jason Millard, 36, from Oakdale Road, Forest Gate, was arrested on March 11. He’s been charged with burglary and handling stolen goods. Millard appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 12 and is remanded in custody until his Crown Court hearing on April 9.
- Charlie Farrugia, 23, also of Spruce Hill, Harlow, was nabbed March 12. He faces charges of robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of cannabis. Charlie appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 13 and remains in custody awaiting his Crown Court hearing on April 10.
Police hunt witnesses – public urged to come forward
Essex Police have renewed their call for witnesses and anyone with information to get in touch. Members of the public can report details through a dedicated portal, quoting incident number 348 from February 2.

The 17-year-old victim continues to receive intensive medical treatment. Police stress the severity of his life-altering injuries, highlighting just how brutal the attack was.
