Chilling Daylight Attack in Devizes

A 27-year-old man has been convicted of attempted murder and assaulting an emergency worker following a savage stabbing in the heart of Devizes last summer.

Kubilay Bostanli, from Anzio Road, Devizes, was found guilty at Winchester Crown Court on January 20.

Brutal Details of the Stabbing

The violent attack happened around 12:30pm on June 29, 2024. Bostanli chased his victim – a man in his 20s – near Sidmouth Street before launching a vicious assault inside a busy butcher shop.

The victim tried to escape, but Bostanli pursued him to Estcourt Street, where police finally stepped in.

During his arrest, Bostanli didn’t stop there – he also pulled the hair of a female officer.

The victim suffered two stab wounds to the neck, along with facial and ear injuries.

Police Praise Bravery of Victim and Bystanders
