15-Year-Old Arrested for Murder of Coventry Schoolboy Babacar Diagne

Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of murdering another teenager in Coventry. Babacar Diagne, also just 15, was found stabbed to death on Wednesday night.

Tragic Death of Schoolboy Babacar Diagne

Babacar, who lived in Coventry but was previously from Sutton Coldfield, was discovered collapsed on grassland off Petitor Crescent, Wood End, around 7pm. He had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Six Arrests Made, Investigation Ongoing

Last night, detectives arrested a 15-year-old from Canley on suspicion of murder. Five others were also detained on suspicion of helping the suspect evade capture. All six remain in custody this morning.

Detectives believe Babacar was attacked by three black males who arrived on pedal cycles. Motives remain unclear as police continue to interview witnesses and search through CCTV footage.

Detectives Urge Public to Come Forward

“We have a team of officers working solely on this enquiry,” said Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths. “We believe two others were directly involved in Babacar’s death. We will arrest anyone assisting suspects to avoid arrest – they face jail time.” “Babacar’s killers are dangerous and must be taken off the streets. We urge anyone with information, or dash-cam footage from Petitor Crescent between 6-8pm on Wednesday, to contact us.” “These people do not deserve protection. They have killed a child. We must stand together to show this is unacceptable.”
