Met Police Officer Charged with Terror Links and Shocking Crimes
A probationary Met Police officer from North London has been hit with serious charges. The officer faces allegations of membership in a banned organisation, possession of indecent images, and fraud. He remains suspended from duty.
Top Cop Speaks Out: “Integrity Is Fundamental”
Detective Superintendent Ella Marriott, Acting Commander of North Area Basic Command Unit, expressed how troubling the news is for local communities. She said, “Integrity is fundamental to policing and any officer suspected of extremist behaviour or associations should rightly expect to be investigated.”
She added, “The Met and the public do not accept this behaviour. We will act swiftly and decisively.”
Counter Terrorism Command Leads Fast, Serious Inquiry
The probe has been led by Counter Terrorism Command with backing from the North Area BCU. Marriott said, “We take allegations of criminal activity by officers extremely seriously.”
She stressed the need for patience as the prosecution now takes its course. “This case shows we are committed to investigating officers suspected of wrongdoing and ensuring justice is served.”
