Predator Andrew Woodhouse Jailed for Life Over Two Decades of Horror
Andrew Woodhouse, 48, from Long Eaton, has been locked up for life at Nottingham Crown Court. His crimes are chilling: rape, blackmail, sexual assault, and more, spanning 20 years and ripping apart the lives of five victims.
20 Offences Unearthed After Victim’s Brave Report
Living on Cranmer Street, Woodhouse was hit with 20 charges after a damning trial exposed his monstrous deeds. Despite denying most claims, jurors convicted him of four rapes, indecent assault, three counts of controlling and coercive behaviour, offences against minors, and possession of extreme pornography – including bestiality videos.
The nightmare began to unravel when one brave victim stepped forward in 2019, reporting multiple rapes. Police uncovered Woodhouse’s disturbing obsession with another older woman, bombarding her with thousands of sexually explicit messages. When she rejected him, he retaliated by superimposing her face onto fake nude images and threatening to share them online and locally, leaving her terrified.
More Victims Come Forward as Investigation Widens
- One woman revealed she was raped by Woodhouse in 2001 and suffered physical violence afterwards.
- Another endured controlling and coercive abuse between 2020 and 2021.
- Evidence showed Woodhouse grooming and sexually abusing a young girl, using threats to force compliance.
The investigation’s success hinged on the victims’ courage to tell their stories.
Judge Slams ‘Incredibly Manipulative’ Offender as Life Sentence Delivered
Sentencing, Judge Julie Warburton branded Woodhouse an “incredibly manipulative and predatory offender.” She confirmed he will serve a minimum of 18 years and 329 days behind bars.
Detective Constable Stacey Lamb, who led the probe, praised the victims: “Their courage has prevented others from being subjected to further harm. While the damage won’t ever leave them, I hope this sentence offers some closure.”
Nottinghamshire Police urged anyone affected by sexual crimes to come forward, promising full support and a commitment to justice.
