Karl Kaynar, 40, no fixed address, hit with multiple charges after two armed robberies in Swanley.
Armed robberies shake Swanley over weekend
Karl Kaynar is in hot water after police linked him to two daring armed robberies in Swanley across one frantic weekend.
The first attack struck around 9:40pm on Saturday, March 23, at Domino’s Pizza on the High Street. Kaynar allegedly stormed in brandishing what looked like a gun, demanding cash before fleeing with money from the till.
Knife robbery at Asda petrol station hours later
Less than 12 hours later, at about 6:30am on Sunday, March 24, trouble struck again at an Asda petrol station on 1 Road. Authorities say Kaynar threatened shop staff with a knife and made off on foot with stolen cash.
Swift police action leads to arrest and charges
Karl Kaynar was snapped up by Kent Police’s West Kent Crime Squad later that day. He now faces two counts of robbery, theft, possession of an imitation firearm, and carrying a knife in public.
At Medway Magistrates’ Court on March 26, Kaynar also faced drug charges for heroin and amphetamine possession. He remains in custody ahead of his April 22 hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.
Woman arrested and bailed in linked probe
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old woman from Sevenoaks was arrested in connection to the crimes. She has been released on bail until June 21 as investigations continue.
